Dr. Christopher Balint is a Board-certified Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in sports medicine with an emphasis in the diagnosis and treatment of knee and shoulder injuries. Dr. Balint’s interest in sports medicine comes from his own experience as a high school and college athlete. He was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana and knew early on that South Bend was where he would end up. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1990. He then received his Medical Degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in June of 1996. After completing his orthopedic residency at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, Michigan, Dr. Balint completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts in 2002. Dr. Balint has also served as a team physician and consultant for the University of Notre Dame for over 18 years. In his free time, Dr. Balint enjoys spending time with his wife, Susan, and four children, Emma, Owen, Evan, and Ella.
