Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and Applications

Our durable medical equipment (DME) encompasses the various devices and aids prescribed by your orthopedic physician or rehabilitation therapist to assist you with specific medical conditions or disabilities related to your shoulders, hips, knees, or feet and ankles. These devices are considered “durable” because they are designed for long-term use and can withstand repeated use. South Bend Orthopaedics is proud to partner with Breg®, one of the largest US providers of orthopedic bracing, to provide the latest DME products for our patients.

Breg Polar Care Wave® and VPULSE® Compression Systems

Both the Polar Care Wave and VPULSE compression systems from Breg are types of durable medical equipment offered at South Bend Orthopaedics. They may be used as part of a comprehensive postoperative orthopedic care plan to help you recover more comfortably and efficiently.

Polar Care Wave

The Polar Care Wave is a cold therapy system designed to reduce pain and inflammation following surgery or injury. It typically consists of a unit that circulates cold water through a pad or wrap applied to the injured area. Cold therapy can help constrict blood vessels, reduce blood flow, and alleviate pain and swelling.

Venapro
